Yesterday Mom and I spent the day collecting stuff and getting ready for our big Midwest Workshop. We spent a ton on clothes. I know Mom will look sharp, me on the other hand?...it will be debateable.
We will travel Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska and hit the Church History sites. Should be fun. We have a presentation to make at Far West, Missouri. New shirts, pants, you won't be able to recognize us all decked out!
I am getting ready to ride in the ULCER race. It is tough getting in the miles needed for the ride. Cheramie and Angie have registered too, We are riding as a team! I selected the name and Mom thinks it not such a good one. We are called "The Flying Desert Monkeys" Now you know how Mom thought what she thought. But the name is better than ..."Team, Do It The Hard Way" which would be my second choice. "Ride Hard or Don't Ride Hard"
He lives with us only at the farm
This is Kodiak or Kody for short. He is a purebred AKC registered Chesapeake Bay Retriever. He makes us feel good because he is always happy to see us. I'm sure the food helps but I believe he lives by a higher need than mere food...like our adoration and love.
He can do wonderful things like:
double blind retreive
sit and stay (when he feels like it)
get into the truck or out on command
swims like a furry fish
chases all the ducks on Salem pond (I mean all the ducks)
and his nose can find anything!

The Genesis of our Blog
Well here I am stepping gingerly into the 21st century. Now on the threshold of bloggerhood. All the kids are blogging and having a great time with it. And I have to admit it is really fun to see thier blogs and esp. the pictures of the grandkids. So I figured it was time for the hip but older generation to get on board. That would be us!

i can't believe we're going to be swapping locations at almost the same time, we would have tried to sneak in to your far west presention posing as innocent tourists. i think the only bad part about the team name is that i'll have a hard time living up to the "flying" bit. maybe the "slouching desert monkeys" or the "creeping desert monkeys" or "in major pain desert monkeys"? can't wait for it!
We wish we could go with you to the Church History sites! It sounds like it is going to be fun. Take lots of bug spray!
